Carrìerre by Gendarme

*****
Year: 1996

Notes: bergamot, lemon, lime blossom, lavender, lilac, jasmine, musk
Like Gendarme, Carrìerre was composed specifically for the workplace and acts as the female equivalent of the original. With a stronger floral presence, and the omission of Gendarme's leather note, Carrìerre also comes in a higher concentration.

The genesis of Gendarme is still intact but that dry-cleaned shirt aroma is less prominent. Instead, Carrìerre is closer in spirit to the smell of hand wash cleansed hands (or even damp conditioned hair). In other words, very soapy and clean in an archetypal manner (largely courtesy of the lilac).

Unfortunately, projection is close to non-existent and its longevity is pretty disappointing, especially for an Eau de Parfum at 25% concentration. Even though it's an admirable follow-up to the original, using extra floral fabric oftener in one's laundry would yield similar results.

For a more substantial (albeit sweeter) alternative, Geir by Geir Ness would be worth looking into.
