Comment: Murasaki no Ue is part of the Basic Collection and is only available in Japan
Inspired by Lady Murasaki, the famous heroine in the Tale of Genji, Murasaki no Ue is a fruity-floral that begins with a wonderful effervescent coupling of grape and violet, set against a floral backdrop of rose and jasmine. It's sparkling, carefree but with a sufficient hint of sophistication.
As it settles down, it progressively develops into something darker and more conservative, with powdery woods and a sweet musk base glaring through. For a feminine Eau de Parfum, it's too sheer to justify its price tag but it's still a charming minimalist creation nonetheless.
