Year: 2010
Notes: Sevillian bitter orange, Egyptian basil, Guatemalan cardamom, clover, Indian galbanum, violet leaf from Grasse, Tunisian neroli, Indonesian patchouli, Slovenian moss, musk
Comment: Trèfle Pur is part of the Collection Originale
Contrary to the name, Trèfle Pur is simply a variation of Grand Néroli but with a woodier, more aromatic, leaning seemingly inspired by Hermès' Eau d'Orange Verte.
It's fresh, sparkling and elegant, and any sweetness is kept to a bare minimum. With a subtle green bitterness, both verdant and herbaceous aspects seamlessly intertwine with the non-acidic bitter orange and neroli. As the proceedings draw to a close, the citruses recede to reveal a sweet combination of patchouli and moss.
Even though it's both a genteel and pleasant composition, it hugs the skin and falters after the three-hour mark. But, for such a clean-smelling fragrance, it's great to experience something of this ilk without being bludgeoned incessantly by overtly synthetic components.
