Comment: Ottone is a limited edition release
To celebrate Santa Maria Novella's 400th anniversary, two fragrances were released as limited editions: Ottone and Porcellana.
Ottone is considered to be the male counterpart to the more feminine Porcellana. With a very one-dimensional citrus and rose opening, it quickly develops into a spicy-floral. It's only once most of the notes subside that the frankincense fully appears, before eventually heading towards a faint woody drydown.
Personally, one wasn't impressed with it as much as Porcellana but, with moderate sillage, its longevity is just as respectable. Taking into account that these two are double the price of the regular Eau de Cologne line, one can easily pass on this rendition of incense without losing too much sleep.
