Eau de Sisley 2 by Sisley

*****
Year: 2009

Notes: bergamot, basil, cardamom, cyclamen, rose, Egyptian jasmine, water iris, vetiver, patchouli, cedar, sandalwood
Out of the three Eau de Sisleys, Eau de Sisley 2 is the most herbaceous offering. It's also more preferred over the other two. Although not listed, one can distinctly discern some orange or mandarin throughout the majority its development, with a performance somewhat reminiscent of Hermès' Eau d'Orange Verte.

With hints of spicy cardamom, the citrus is both rich and assiduous. As for the mid notes, the florals are sweet but constantly remain subdued. The vetiver later provides some reinforcement to the composition's greenness, while its woody base is gentle, slightly dark but non-imposing.

With marginally better lasting power than its other two siblings, it's just as well-composed and acts more as a suitable companion for Eau de Sisley 1 than Eau de Sisley 3. But even though the quality is evident, it's simply too expensive for what it offers.
