Notes: bitter orange, dried fruits, Mocha coffee bean, cocoa, tonka bean, Madagascan vanilla
Chocolate Greedy starts out with a blast of dry cocoa, while accompanied by a wafer-like accord. After several moments, a cake or biscuit dough mix emerges with some underlying vanilla. Some credit should also be given to Montale for anchoring the vanilla firmly in the background, as the cocoa continues to flourish (something that many other prominent chocolate renditions often fail to achieve).
But the dough mix accord never completely dissipates and acts as the composition's main flaw. There's also a cardboard note, during the drydown, which probably stems from the very same dough mix accord. At times, it's intriguing but other than that it's just downright irritating.
Although sillage is moderate, it does provide great longevity. There's also a mouth-watering creaminess, which occasionally presents itself but never lingers around long enough. That's a great pity as it would have helped to create a much better impression.
