Candy Rose by Montale

*****
Year: 2012

Notes: blood orange, mandarin, lychee, raspberry, blackcurrant, orange blossom, rose, jasmine, patchouli, vanilla, white musk
Candy Rose is a subpar fruity-floral, with the usual succulent fruity opening, a rose-infused heart, and a generic foundation of vanilla, patchouli and white musk.

With average lasting power and gentle sillage, it smells all too familiar – using Roses Musk as the basis for the composition but, after additional notes have been added, being highly reminiscent of Juliette Has a Gun's Miss Charming. Towards the drydown, it exhibits a pronounced creamy soapiness, with a smoky facet, and remains close to the skin for several hours.

With a synthetic aura running throughout, it's no better than an alcohol-based Al-Rehab offering.
