Tosca la Losca by l'Ó Profumo

*****
Year: unknown

Notes: mandarin, basil, red pepper, nutmeg, geranium, centifolia rose, Bulgarian rose, tuberose, honey, woods
Commencing with a vivid pairing of basil and mandarin, Tosca la Losca is an intriguing rose creation that fails to reach its full potential.

While many of the other notes are mildly discernible, the mandarin is very pronounced for a large percentage of the composition's lifespan. The rose and tuberose are vaguely evident, but are smothered by a verdant aromatic layer of mandarin, spices and geranium. And while the mandarin isn't too overwhelming, it comes quite close.

However, as time passes, one senses a dramatic shift – the aromatic citrus aspect has largely dissipated, now allowing both the rose and tuberose to finally breathe. But such redemption arrives a little too late, with a rather tasteful woody-floral drydown that's sadly nothing more than a skin scent.

Prossessing very good longevity but modest sillage, it's somewhat of a structural mess. However, the quality of the materials used is high.
