Vaniglia by Santa Maria Novella

*****
Year: unknown

Notes: spices, flowers, cacao, vanilla
Vaniglia is a sensual and sophisticated vanilla fragrance, with a slight floral underpinning. It's also a very natural interpretation of a relatively straight-up vanilla, while avoiding all the usual trappings and clichés associated with this highly popular note. Instead, there's a creamy and ethereal quality about it that feels like a rich tapestry of seductive whispers and caresses.

Being much less cloying, its translucent nature is both substantial and enchanting – providing a comforting and gentle aura around the wearer, like a soft cashmere scarf. While unique in its own way, one could easily deem Vaniglia as a lighter alternative to Serge Lutens' Un Bois Vanille (but without the burnt sugar accord and with a touch of banana instead of coconut).

Although slightly feminine, it could easily be worn by a man and has excellent longevity.
