Opening with a dark, smoky and sinister liquorice accord, Saaliiisssiimo, rapidly softens to reveal a sweet and spicy rice pudding aroma, with just a touch of saffron.
Based on a dish Hilde Soliani prepared during the Merano Wine Festival, it's a deliciously unique creation (but, personally, after the liquorice subsides). Unfortunately, it possesses low projection and abysmal staying power of less than two hours.
