Incorporating a minuscule amount of sandalwood, the name Santal Wood is completely misleading.
With sweet, spicy and salty accords to temper what little woods have been used, it's a synthetic, insubstantial and insipid offering, along the lines of Musk to Musk. With a smokiness towards the drydown, both sillage and tenacity are just as unsatisfying.
Considering the recent lack of quality releases, this designer-esque sporty woody-aquatic isn't doing Montale's reputation any favours.
