Comment: Esprit Mondain is part of Les Contextuels Collection
To one's nose, Esprit Mondain smells just like an anaemic take on Mauvais Garçon, with the most interesting aspects largely stripped away. Gone is the spicy nucleus, non-existent is the powdery and compelling woody drydown, and that delicious floral-gourmand premise has long left the building.

Starting off with a noticeable citrus accord, followed by a lactonic fruity booziness, it's mainly a resinous woody creation coupled with an ambery musk base. With fluctuating aromatic airs and graces, it rapidly evolves into a cedar affair that's slightly less sweet than other offerings from this house.

Coming across as something that Nejma would release (after some synthetic oud has been added, of course), it's reasonably pleasant but generates nothing more than stolid indifference.
