Ninfea by Profumum

*****
Year: 2010

Notes: violet, rose, honeysuckle, grass
With the typical longevity of Profumum's other fresh offerings (in other words, it's not remarkably potent), Ninfea is a simple but uneventful creation that fails to match the luxurious quality of this house's better releases.

After a vaguely green violet opening, a honeyed rose accord quickly emerges and proceeds to dominate for the majority of its duration. But at the same time, a synthetic wax note surfaces – leading the composition towards cheap air freshener territory. However, unlike the lacklustre Dambrosia, such unpleasantness soon calms down to an almost acceptable level.

Possessing a powdery honeysuckle drydown, a subdued spiciness lurks in the background with traces of violet and rose still remaining. As for the green notes, they have long since dissipated – very much like one's interest in this fragrance, with a retail value that's unconvincingly justified.
