Nejma Two by Nejma

*****
Year: 2007

Notes: aldehydes, clove, saffron, violet, centifolia rose, Ottoman rose, white rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine sambac, amber, oud, Indonesian patchouli, tonka bean, coumarin, sandalwood, musk
Nejma Two begins with a prevailing oud opening, accompanied by a powdery floral accord so well-blended that discerning specific floral notes is almost impossible. After a few minutes, the oud quickly recedes, allowing the powdery florals to grow in intensity, as some sweet amber joins the fray.

However, after approximately 15-20 minutes, the majority of the fragrance's evolution has already occurred. The patchouli remains subdued, while the emergence of sandalwood, coumarin and tonka bean greatly influence the composition's intriguing transition from a woody-floral to a floral-oriental.

Even though it's not an exact copy of any particular Montale oud, it's still too Montale-esque to be perceived as anything unique. To be perfectly blunt, Nejma Two could easily be dubbed ‘Montale's Greatest Hits (Volume I)', with various Montale releases springing to mind throughout its lifespan, including Powder Flowers, Aoud Velvet, Aoud Blossom and even White Aoud.

With a mostly vanilla, woods and musk drydown, its longevity is relatively short-lived (about two to three hours) with very minimal sillage. Based on this and also its schizophrenic nature, it would be so much more rewarding purchasing one of the Montale releases previously mentioned.
