Garofano by Santa Maria Novella

*****
Year: 1828

Notes: citrus, carnation
One couldn't really discern the archetypal carnation aura that one naturally expected in Garofano. Instead, an aroma of clove persistently met the nose for the majority of its lifespan. One was then later informed that one of the properties of carnation possesses an olfactory profile similar to that of clove (hence the spicy assault).

Therefore, if you enjoy either the smell of clove or the true smell of carnation then please investigate. But if you were expecting something more of a floral nature, you should look elsewhere.
