Frankincense & Myrrh by Czech & Speake

*****
Year: 1984

Notes: Amalfi lemon, bitter orange, basil, clary sage, pimento leaf, lavender, chamomile, myrrh, frankincense, Virginian cedar, sandalwood
Based on what the name implies, one found Frankincense & Myrrh to be severely lacking.

It's of more a herbaceous-aromatic, with a bright citrus opening prefacing the composition's herbaceous nature. As for the frankincense and myrrh, they are present but solely in supporting roles – providing nothing more than a dry and austere quality to the proceedings.

With a light sandalwood drydown, it's largely a fleeting soapy affair that's both insubstantial and rather dull.
