Year: 2001
Notes: grapefruit, Italian lemon, tangerine, eucalyptus, nutmeg, black pepper, frankincense, Atlas cedar, Siberian pine, patchouli, vetiver
With muted top notes of citrus and eucalyptus, 1828 starts out as flat, powdery and uninspired. Sadly, the rest of composition is just as dull, leaving one completely disinterested in the anaemic woody-incense drydown that follows (which, strangely, barely consists of any vetiver, cedar or pine).
Like many of the offerings from this house, its sillage is quite discreet with below average longevity. One is also beginning to notice that many of them share a very similar drydown, with a distinctive floral or iris-infused musk base (which 1828 unexpectedly possesses to a certain degree).
Apart from the fact that it's both bland and utterly forgettable, there's not really much more one can say.
