Crystal Aoud is a fruity oud that's luminous and yet sweet in equal measure. Both the mandarin and oud make a lovely combination before the apple and melon emerge, never threatening to dominate (thankfully). After some time, the oud takes centre stage and remains there, while the saffron and other woody notes discretely prepare the wearer for a warm oriental base.
Although the oud is more pronounced than in most of the recent Montale oud offerings, it still comes across as overtly feminine. Its sillage is moderate, with very good longevity.
