Year: unknown
Notes: star anise, Dutch lavender, heliotrope, black pepper, rose hip, geranium, lily of the valley, vetiver, oakmoss, sandalwood
Non Lo So is an intriguing woody-aromatic, heralding a tantalising star anise and lavender opening. Within less than a minute, the heliotrope intensifies the sweetness of the star anise – unmasking, courtesy of the lavender, a dry (and sporadically burnt) cocoa or chocolate wafer aroma.
The black pepper isn't too overwhelming, as the rose hip and geranium yield a faint pseudo green rose aura to keep the freshness of the lily of the valley company. With the sweetness still apparent, these accords continue to swirl around and intertwine with each other. It's not long before the vetiver appears and sets the scene for the oakmoss and sandalwood – initiating a firm woody foundation with an underlying creaminess.
While one wasn't too sure what to expect, the composition is surprisingly smooth, seamless and serene – with each stage melding into each other with comparative ease. Where one stage ends and another begins remains unknown but that was probably l'Ó Profumo's intention, hence the name.
Emitting moderate sillage, its staying power is reasonably good.
