Nemu by Parfum Satori

*****
Year: unknown

Notes: grapefruit, lychee, ginger, violet, jasmine, Bulgarian rose, iris, sandalwood, powdery notes, musk

Comment: Nemu is part of the Basic Collection and is only available in Japan

Parfum Satori is a Japanese niche fragrance house and Nemu is classified as a floral.

It commences with a beautiful grapefruit and lychee burst, which is refreshingly sweet and reserved. The ginger soon joins the fray, shortly followed by the violet. And although the jasmine is suppressed in favour of the iris, it still manages to gently mingle with the rose. By this stage, the composition is both graceful and serene.

Sadly, the finale is quite disappointing, as it displays a clean aroma with a metallic nuance (possibly due to the combination of the powdery notes and rose). With faint traces of the citrus slightly evident during the drydown, a luscious sandalwood accord temporarily halts the olfactory decline, against an ambrette seed foundation.

With its name perfectly summing up its general aroma, it's yet another quiet and skin hugging release from this house that doesn't yield impressive longevity. Still, disregarding the cultural differences in terms of expectations in performance, it remains a respectable effort.
