Year: 2011
Notes: lavender, brown tobacco, cigar tobacco, patchouli from five Indian regions, musk
Regarded as an evening fragrance for men, Cuir Tabac is a more timid affair than its sibling, Cuir Mandarine.
Unfortunately, the name is a misnomer as one is unable to locate any evidence of leather (and if there is any in the composition, it's probably some mild suede). The lavender pierces through the patchouli and tobacco, while there's a strong emphasis on a coy musky demeanour. And although the base consists of five different varieties of Indian patchouli, no real olfactory benefits from this revelation are perceived.
While there are no doubts about quality, it's simply a musk-laden patchouli creation with a tobacco infusion. As it stands, one found it pleasant but not engaging enough. Longevity is good but its diffusion is very modest.
