Bergamote 22 by Le Labo

*****
Year: 2006

Notes: bergamot, grapefruit, petitgrain, nutmeg, aspic lavender, orange blossom, vanilla, vetiver, cedar, amber, musk
In a nutshell, Bergamote 22 is both a nondescript and overpriced ode to the citrus woody-green aquatics, such as Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme. The only thing that sets it apart from these designer 'classics' is that it's less synthetic and, therefore, won't bring on fits of sneezing or induce an unpleasant migraine.

With unimpressive staying power, not even the nutmeg and aspic lavender (also known as spike lavender or old English lavender) can do much to salvage it from mediocrity.
