Tabacco Toscano by Santa Maria Novella

*****
Year: 2008

Notes: bergamot, birch leaf, tobacco, jasmine, burnt malt, amber, vanilla
Tabacco Toscano is a warm and lavish tobacco fragrance, with sweet aromatic qualities vaguely reminiscent of the oriental charms of Molinard's Habanita. But while it's almost as powdery, it also possesses a timeless (and more versatile) aura.

One can also detect some similarities to Serge Lutens' Fumerie Turque. With Fumerie Turque having been first released five years prior to Tabacco Toscano, one can't help but question if this Lutens creation may have been influential. However, in it's defence, it does last on the skin significantly longer than Serge Lutens' interpretation of cherry-pipe tobacco.

While perfectly unisex, it's soft, creamy and comforting, with a subtle leathery drydown.
