Victrix is a crisp, green and dry fragrance, which perfectly encapsulates the aroma of green fields and pastures during the summer months. It starts off with a wonderfully sharp freshness that settles down within a matter of minutes. However, its longevity and sillage are both very deceptive...

Initially, it appears to have no staying power at all – even smelling the area of application gives this impression. However, throughout the day, some whiffs can be detected emitting from the skin completely unannounced. In one sense, this can be rather beguiling but, at the same time, quite frustrating. It never really leaps off the skin but, instead, teases the wearer at irregular intervals.

At the end of the day, its performance is too coy and flirtatious, with no firm reassurance of offering something more substantial during its seemingly short lifespan. Granted, it's yet another high-quality offering by Profumum but the composition isn't as satisfying or tenacious as expected, largely due to a weak and uninteresting musk prominent base.

So, high marks for artistry but not for its irritating tendency to play hide and seek.
