Boisé Fruité by Montale

*****
Year: 2009

Notes: Italian bergamot, lime, mandarin leaf, violet leaf, Indonesian vetiver, Mysore sandalwood

Comment: Boisé Fruité is part of the Bronze Collection

Who would have thought Montale would reach such a low by blatantly replicating a Creed creation? Yes, there have been various accusations over the years but, upon smelling Boisé Fruité, one has no choice but to agree with the detractors on this occasion: it does indeed smell very identical to Creed's Silver Mountain Water.

Although no aquatic or berry-like accords are listed, one can easily detect these throughout this relatively fresh and fruity composition (regardless of the fact that it may simply be an olfactory illusion, courtesy of the vetiver and fruits). Also, both its sillage and longevity are absolutely abysmal.

Unless you're looking for a cheaper alternative to Silver Mountain Water, this Montale release is best avoided at all costs.
