1804 (George Sand) by Histoires de Parfums

*****
Year: 2001

Notes: Corsican peach, Hawaiian Pineapple, nutmeg, clove, lily of the valley, Moroccan rose, Indian jasmine, Tahitian gardenia, patchouli, benzoin, vanilla, sandalwood, white musk
1804 is a tropical-floral fragrance, which fails to offer anything substantial beyond its fun and fruity aura.

There's an unfortunate one-dimensional aspect to the pineapple and peach, which could have been significantly livened up with the addition of some citrus. Luckily, there's no coconut accord in the vicinity (which is definitely a good thing, as the whole composition would have come across as terribly clichéd). As for the florals, they are rather discreet and the vanilla can be detected shortly after the opening.

It's quite a sweet concoction, with average longevity and low sillage, but it simply fails to beguile.
