Comment: Vidi is part of the Édition Rare: Yellow Gold Trilogy
"After having been crowned for a triumphant military conquest, Julius Caesar stood before the Roman senate and declared his victorious phrase "Veni, Vidi, Vici"."

While not an utter failure, the second instalment in the Yellow Gold Trilogy is still rather disappointing – coming across as a crude, synthetic and derivative concoction.

Described as a woody-ozonic, Vidi is supported by a woody-amber musk base. Unfortunately, it's essentially a chemical cocktail of iodine, Iso E Super, ambroxan and something along the lines of blond woods, much at the expense of the more virtuous notes. With salty facets, the florals are largely muted, but the rich cardamom-led opening is one of the composition's few saving graces. Personally, one is left rather perplexed with this release, which is more mainstream aquatic dreck than niche.

Lasting power and projection are both reasonable.
