Supposedly inspired by "the intriguing, sultry and perfumed atmosphere that prevails after a tropical rainstorm", Eau Tropicale is a shamelessly derivative and highly synthetic fruity-floral.

With a vibrant fruit punch opening, its chemical properties are immediately evident from the very outset. It also smells like it's desperately trying to appeal to the female masses, instead of bringing anything artistically new or interesting to the table. Thankfully, it's not tooth-achingly sweet and evolves into a musky floral, with a strong ambrette seed presence. However, none of that's enough to save it from acute mediocrity.

After the first few impressive releases, up until the Eau de Sisley trio, Eau Tropicale is just further testament to Sisley's downward spiral.
