One has to hand it to Profumi del Forte – this house offers some interesting creations but some of them can be just as frustrating to wear.
Following on from a promising spicy opening, with a timid coconut accord, both the geranium and florals rapidly burn themselves out before the oakmoss takes over the helm. With a discernible vanillic base that incorporates woods and Tolu balsam, it transforms into an evasive skin scent moments after application.
Its uniqueness, which verges quite close to vintage chypré territory, could have made Marconi 3 a firm favourite, but there's just not enough presence to warrant sufficient satisfaction.
