Im Nebel by Softeistanz

Notes: water apple, green notes, pepper leaf, ginger, frankincense, flowers, leather, silver linden, milk cedar
Intended to capture the essence of fog in the countryside, Im Nebel is a strange fruity-green fragrance that fails to convincingly convey what it had set out to achieve.

After a dry but fleeting spicy blast, it's largely dominated by melon, a subtle hint of apple, florals and some mild leather. The frankincense is marginally perceptible, while the woods patiently wait in the wings. There's also an interesting milkiness that cuts through the composition's cool, dank, leathery and verdant demeanour.

While it's quite compelling, its synthetic attributes seriously outweigh whatever natural oils were employed, and that's its main downfall. Occasionally emitting a melting plastic aroma, it comes across as a wannabe Miller et Bertaux creation more than something by a US indie niche house.

Possessing decent longevity and sillage, and with a noticeable sweetness during the drydown, personal doubts about its quality still remain. However, one can envisage it working wonders during the height of summer.
