Year: 2011
Notes: apple, black cherry, pepper, artemisia, pomegranate, black tea, patchouli, teak, metallic notes
Comment: B is part of the Red Series / Eau de Parfum review
Blood Concept is an Italian niche house that, through its fragrances, portrays an olfactory interpretation of each of the four human blood types (as opposed to what État Libre d'Orange was striving to achieve with Sécrétions Magnifiques). Boasting metallic accords, with no discernible florals, B represents the inevitable phenomenon of cultural integration.
Defined as "woody and spicy" and "nomadic and eclectic", it could be viewed as the most conventional release in the line. A warm and deliciously sweet aroma of stewed apples and cherries initially greets the nose, against a mild aromatic and woody base.
As the stewed fruits recede, the pomegranate-infused black tea gains more prominence (vaguely venturing into Hermès' Hermèssence Ambre Narguilé territory). The metallic notes are less noticeable and one wouldn't be at all surprised if it turned out to be this house's best-seller. Staying power is around four hours.
