Year: unknown
Notes: patchouli
It must be said that the best patchouli fragrances smelt so far usually come from Italian niche houses (Lorenzo Villoresi, Profumum and Mazzolari among others) and this additional Italian interpretation of that very accord is further testimony.
Patchouli is an unadulterated and dark take on this woody note, with a very sharp and harsh opening. Its dank, earthy, herbaceous and camphorous properties grow more evident as it develops on the skin, while creating an enchanting aura around the wearer. Even though its longevity isn't as impressive as some personal favourites, it lasts for at least four hours before transforming into a faint skin scent.
With no sweeteners or fixatives (such as amber and vanilla) present in the composition, it's one of the purest (and thus more challenging) patchouli fragrances currently available.
