Sliver Aoud is a refreshingly crisp fougère, with only a light modest touch of oud. With the stark absence of any rose or spices, the composition mainly revolves around the lemon, lavender and geranium. Although it's a world away from most of the other Montale ouds, it's somewhat reminiscent of the classic masculine fougères, such as Christian Dior's Eau Sauvage and Yves Saint Laurent's Pour Homme.
With a soft vetiver, cedar and tonka bean drydown, it's a rather thin and inoffensive scent that could have been better executed with more originality and panache (especially for an Eau de Parfum).
