Monserrat by Bruno Fazzolari

Notes: pink grapefruit, apricot, carrot seed, green leaves, osmanthus, jasmine, plaster accord, white musk
Named after the oil colour, Montserrat Orange, Monserrat is a bright fruity-floral, which isn't entirely original but quite pleasant nonetheless.

Beginning with a succulent citrus-green opening, the carrot seed adds an earthy tone to the apricot. Altogether, the olfactory result is sweet and warm like orange pulp (just like the very oil colour it's named after). Alongside some osmanthus and an indolic jasmine note, the green fruity aspect verges close to the territory of Diptyque's Philosykos but never crosses the line. With an animalic undercurrent, the composition performs admirably on a generic white musk base.

Providing moderate sillage and longevity, the citrus-green aspect is both lush and attractive. However, the floral musky undertones leave a lot to be desired, resulting in a pretty effort without much depth or substance.

A variation of Hermès' Eau d'Orange Verte and nothing more.
