Rosae Mundi by Profumum

*****
Year: 2012

Notes: rose, patchouli, vetiver, cedar
Rosae Mundi is something of an improvement on Profumum's other rose venture, Ninfea, but it isn't as rich and enveloping as some of its more heavy duty siblings.

With a timid rose bouquet, one can hardly identify any vetiver, but both the patchouli and cedar are a little more pronounced. There's also a tuberose nuance at the beginning but its presence drastically increases by the mid notes, thus making the name a bit of a misnomer. All in all, one gets the distinct impression that Rosae Mundi is simply a gentler rendition of Serge Lutens' Cèdre, but without the integral spicy-incense aspect.

Yes, it's a reasonable creation but there's nothing unique about it, with a price point that's rather baffling.
