Eau Trouble by Brecourt

*****
Year: 2010

Notes: tangerine, carrot, frankincense, tea, orange blossom, orris, heliotrope, cedar, vetiver, musks

Comment: Eau Trouble is part of Les Contextuels Collection
Adjectives such as ethereal, transparent, delicate, muted, fleeting and soapy come to mind when smelling Eau Trouble. With the notes tightly interwoven, it's nothing more than a powdery skin scent within minutes.

It's rather obvious that this is Brecourt's attempt at creating something very Malle-esque and, while it succeeds in emulating that aura of reserved bourgeois sophistication, both its substance and originality fail to impress. It also relies too heavily on both the carrot and orris to help generate a quasi-intellectual tone.
