After Linari's previous humdrum releases, a half-decent creation has finally materialised...

Fuoco Infernale is the third Linari creation by Egon Oelkers (with Vista sul Mare and Eleganza Luminosa being the other two), and is a woody-leather fragrance, comprised of herbs, woods, florals and balsams that adorn a leather accord.

While there are parallels with other leather scents, such as Knize's Knize Ten and Chanel's Cuir de Russie, it's not necessarily a carbon copy of any of them. Also, its floral underpinnings aren't so prominent, thus granting the woody and herbaceous aspects more breathing space. The birch tar note is noticeable, while the labdanum and olibanum are both very slight. With a musky base, the drydown is soft, powdery and balsamic.

Both the quality and blending are a lot better than its siblings and, although Fuoco Infernale won't set the world alight, it's reassuring to know that this house has at least one fragrance worth investigating.

Longevity and sillage are both rather good.
