Volo AZ 686 by Profumum

*****
Year: 2005

Notes: coconut, gardenia, vanilla
Named after a direct flight from Rome to the Caribbean, Volo AZ 686 is a tropical floral creation that falls foul of the 'curse of the coconut accord'. Now, using coconut in fragrances is never an easy feat, as the end result can often be synthetic or plastic-smelling. Unfortunately, this Profumum offering is no exception.

It's really potent but that isn't always necessarily a good thing, especially when the end result verges close to something very unpleasant. Personally, it could have been a lot worse but smelling like a freshly cleaned men's restroom (that's been further freshened by the aroma of urinal cakes and cheap liquid hand soap) doesn't really compel one to rush out to purchase a bottle.

It strives desperately to exude exoticism but simply ends up being both unbecoming and sterile.
