Neroli by Profumum

*****
Year: 1998

Notes: neroli, myrrh, orange wood
Neroli and orange blossom fragrances often fail to hit the mark and, after trying Neroli, it seems that the search for the perfect specimen continues.

It commences promisingly, with an intensely rich and vibrant neroli accord, which smells rather natural and not artificial in the slightest. However, it's during the drydown where it all sadly falls apart. Whether it's the myrrh or the woods, the composition goes off into an unpleasant tangent, before settling down to a dull soapy aura.

With extremely good lasting power and medium projection, albeit less so towards the drydown, Neroli is one of the better neroli scents but one was expecting so much more for the price.
